A few years ago, our CEO and Founder Michael Caldwell brought a small, wooden, winged-pig into the office. Besides being cute, the figurine held no obvious connection to our company which was built around technology, animation, and the justice system. Confused, most of us shrugged it off as a random piece of office décor, while others were left baffled with the lingering question, what was this pig doing here? Finally, we asked for an explanation to which our CEO answered, “It’s a flying pig. We make pigs fly.”
This response rang with familiarity as it touched on the common figure of speech, when pigs fly, said by those exaggerating that a task or goal was impossible. At first, this left us just as confused as the presence of the statue itself, resting confidently on the table in our break room, but then it dawned on us. The new addition was symbolic of one's ability to obtain something others didn’t dare to believe could be obtained. Something our team works to do every day.
